How many weeks should i grow my hair out before thinking about braids, twists etc.?

Well it all depends on how long your hair now. I would say let it at least be 4 or 5 inches long be for even trying to braid it. Twists your could do with 2 or 3 inch hair. It all depends on who is going to be doing your hair and if they are good.

at least a month and a half for twists, about 3 months for braids

You look nice with styled cut hair. Don't let it become long, twisted or braids. Your a man and be proud of your nice short haircut. Don't do none of this .
