In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made.
This Word is Jesus.
Now to the rest of your question......
Of course God created the double helix, as it says here, and it also says that Jesus is the maker. It is very interesting to think that DNA really is a word that God has spoken. Just like our sentences are made up of letters that altogether gives meaning, DNA is made up of characters that have meaning and give instructions on how to make you. Cool, huh. God spoke the entire universe into existence.

The forces through which he works create the double helix. Like that one double helix nebula they found in space. Everything spins in this universe.
