I just don't get it, My fiance doesn't seem to want to celebrate my birthday, like it is just another day. If I want a present, I have to go out and buy it myself, then he pays for it. Same for Christmas. He can go 600 miles for an enginefor his car, but he can't go to the store & buy me anything. I don't feel special to him, but he says he loves me. Then when the weekend comes, he'll take me out for dinner and say it's for my birthday, but takes me out every Sat. night for dinner anyway.

Is he really busy usually? Maybe his career is more important to him that you?

You should have said something 9 years ago. He won't change....he doesn't have to, because you have allowed him to continue the pattern. Either dump him, or resign yourself to never having a fuss made about your birthday (and most likely your anniversary).

Sounds like you need a new guy. So sorry about the 9 years.

After 9 years you should realize that you are not that important to him or you would have been a wife by now.
