I understand that people take their jobs seriously, especially when you have people depending on your performance, but if I get 15 sick days, at the end of the year I might have 5 left. If I got it I'm using it, even if it's just to chill for the day!

YES,YES, YES, use them for any reason, your work will still be there when you get back, Please take time out for your self and your family, use those sick days for any reason you want.... Have fun.

Yes. On some jobs if you don't use the sick days, you will lose them. A mental health day every now and then never hurts. But I am careful. I try not to use a lot of my sick days because I never know when I will actually have to use them.

A mental health day (singular here) is good but to use sick days for the sake of using them is wrong.
Eventually, people who call in sick repeatedly earn a reputation of being undependable and lose the respect of those around them.
If your finding yourself needing a day off because you need a break, talk your manager/supervisor. I'd rather let my manager know I'm having a difficult time rather than earning a wrong reputation.

Sometimes people are not really sick, they just need a "mental day" to get away from the office and they call out sick.

I wish I knew what a sick day was like. There are a whole lot of people in the world that don't have that luxury....

WHEN I did work for others I never used sick days due to not getting paid for them... I figure hell why not go to work and get paid for being sick.
I am not into "chilling".. I love working !!

If I have important stuff to do at work then i dont take them... otherwise.... everyone needs a day off!
