I started going out with this boy. We agreed on almost everything--except The Winter Ball. I asked him if he wanted to go and he said he wasn't into that kind of stuff. So I lied like I never wanted to go. Then my friend from elementary was looking for a date. Everybody rejected him! (He's a little chubby) I felt bad for him. He's not ugly or anything. He's just fat. So I asked him to go with me. Now he's all psyched to go. I was too. But then I overheard my 'boyfriend' talking about how he worked a LOT to get some money to buy a tux. It turns out that he wanted to take me, but his family can't really afford stuff. So now I feel kinda bad. How do I let him know I'm going with someone else? Or do I dump my other date?

Just tell him that you're going without one of your old friends, but in a more sensitive way. Tell him that you're sorry and that you really want to go with him but you don't want to hurt your other friend's feelings either.

Sorry you are not allow to dump the other date. You need to do some quick talking and go with the two guys one as a friend the other as a date. Try to get your friend another partner. If you can't, you need to be inclusive as possible on the night. Try very hard to get that fourth person.
In fact I would tell your bf that you love him but he messed up now he has to find an extra girl to make up the numbers. While you are at it tell your bf buying a tux sucks - you always grow out of the. Borrow or hire. It means he has money to spend on you!

Don't dump the other date, that would be really mean and you wouldn't want to be dumped just because someone else came along. Karma has a way of catching up with people who do nasty things. Just tell your bf that you agreed to go with a friend since he said he wasn't interested. Tell him before he rents the tux.

Asking someone to a ball when you have a boyfriend? You have lied to both. When you ask someone to a dance they assume you do not have a boyfriend. You need to come clean to both of them and see if they will both go. It would not be right to ask or expect your boyfriend to let you go with someone else no matter what the reason is. Going with someone and not telling them you have a boyfriend would not be right to that person. Get honest with both!

This is really hard. I would tell your boyfriend that someone asked you to go to the winterball with you since he didn't want to take you, and if he says anything about the tux then say that you will tell the other guy that you can go as friends but you will go as dates with your boyfriend. Im sorry I have nothing else to say. Good Luck

Thats a toughie...
Well, he IS you boyfriend and all, but I think you should tell your bf that you promised your friend and that he doesn't have anyone else to go with.
UNLESS you friend will NOT GET HURT AT ALL, and if YOU AND YOUR BF are really close (which I doubt, since you just started going out), that's the only way you could blow off your friend.
Hope that helps! :)

Well, that is tough. Maybe you should explain to your friend that you already have a boyfriend and that you are sorry he misunderstood. Then, explain to your bf, that you guys were going as friends, and you felt sorry for him. Also, tell your bf that he shouldn't have lied, but you forgive him.
Good Luck!

You can't back down now on your date. Your boyfriend should have told you yes when you first asked him. There will be other dances. You should go with your friend. He's really looking forward to it.
