Clonazepam (approved 1997) was developed after Xanax (alprazolam) which has been around since 1976.

Lorazepam, also developed after Xanax, has been around since 1986

Xanax has been around a long time, but I don't know of any new anti-anxiety drugs superceding it.

im not sure, i bet its either #1 or #2 (with lorazepam being the other)
