For me it will depend on the furniture in that room. I would use the same color of the wall or a little lighter color (beige). See photo below.

What color furniture do you have? Brown is a earth tone, so you will need to stay in warm earth tones. Rusts, yellows, cream, beige,.tan, gold,and shades of those.
Look at home depot or lowes at their color charts in the paint departments to find what you need.

I saw brown, and I mean chocolate brown, paired with turquoise in a home magazine several months ago. It was a very eye catching combination and actually went quite well together. I also think a light shade of pink goes nicely with any shade of brown.

anything in the reds, beige's,yellows, oranges or whites.. strive to match some colour from art hanging on the walls..brown is a earth tone ,so earth tones will do well...if you choose to use a colour from art , be sure to not use a dominant colour.
