You said it right there- YOUR LOSING!!! Now lets find you a path to take... Check yourself into a clinic, surround yourself with love, aol, yahoo, us and God!!! I can't stress him enough * Listen to Helen Baylor's Testimony (A Praying Grandmother) *Go to LimeWire*. Grab the holy bible! Read "Our Father, who art in Heaven..."- religiously! Saying the 23 Psalms even in your sleep! 13 years is just time you can't get back! Now move on, please! * I'll pray for you and with you. Honey, after 13 years fall down on your knees and thank Him your still here to breathe! I'm proud of you because that is a sin thats held you down so long and your willing, ready and able to survive... Quote: "Hate put you there between that rock and that hard place, but love IS and Will set you free- its going to bust you out!" -Belive this!

Depending on what type of drug depends on how hard it will be, 13 years is a long time to quit.... and i really commend you on it.

With pot, it's actually very "easy" just to stop.... easier than cigarettes. So with that i reckon go at it cold turkey, one of my friends was smoking it for a long time and just stopped one day...and also my brother had been smoking it for probably 10 years morning noon and night, and he stopped because he got a girl friend that wouldn't have anything to do with it... find something to quit for. And once you're off it for a while notice how much better you feel without it.

If it isn't pot i'm not sure of the steps or if cold turkey is do-able????

good luck in the future

I was an addict for 10 years. I LOVED getting high..I didn't care who I hurt or if I died..I went thru 3 rehabs and would use as soon as I got a chance..I finally decided one day I had enough and I quit.. You have more than I had though..You have someone who loves you and family who wants you to quit...that should be an incentive. I won't tell you it will be easy but it will be hard as He-- but you CAN DO it..Rehab doesn't work for everyone..neither does AA or NA..didn't for me..I had to get to the point to where I was SICK of it and when you get there, you will quit..Forget the 1 day at a time crap..it's 1 minute at a time . I crave EVERY DAY for those drugs...once an addict..always an addict but you can do this..YOU CAN..I believe it you..GL

A lot of people use drugs and alcohol as a crutch.. Because they are in pain or have some realities of life they don't want to face.

If this is your case then tell yourself you can only be a better and stronger person by facing lifes realities without relying on a substance. You will force yourself to grow mentally in order to deal with things that you relied on the substances to see you through, but you will probably be a better and stronger person for having done that.

You didn't say what kind of drugs you use but after 13 years you're mostly likely going have to go to detox and withdraw under medical supervision. Then you'll need alot of support, counseling and therapy to stay clean. Few, if any, people can do this on their own. I'm willing to bet that your family loves you immensely and they will stick by you. You can do it. Many people have conquered addiction. I wish you the best.

Check yourself into a Rehab center and get professional help for your problem. You will need the support of your family and loved ones, so do this while you still have them in your life!

First, get into detox at a treatment center, I mean if you have insurance. Or try A.A., N.A., C.A., any twelve-step recovery group for chemical dependency. But you really, really, really got to want it. Step one says: We admitted we were powerless over alcohol(or drugs), that are lives had become unmanageable. Powerlessness and unmanageability, that's where all recovery starts.

Go through re-hab stay close to your therapist and/or psychiatrist and stay away from the people who are not supportive of your situation and those that use. Good Luck to you sweetie. You can do it!!!! Just questioning it is the first step!!!!

Well sadly that's something no one can answer. In order for you to stop you have to really want to and you have to commit to it. to help i would suggest going to rehab and have you family and friends help you out. Life is too short for you to be ruining your life. Please get help.
