If he is not too proud, he can go door to door and offer to clean leaves or mow yards. I have been doing this for the last six years. I average earning an extra $2000 a year in extra money.
It is not much. Mostly at the time I get paid, I run and buy gas for
my pick-up or eat at Wendy's. He should be able to get $25 to
$35 for the average yard. For leaves, I charge $10 an hour. I put
the bagged leaves in the back of my truck and haul them off to
a dumpster.

Since you are a full time student, I assume that your son is very young. I use to make my son hand puppets from felt and scraps, we had many great hours making up stories with them. Your can take an old sweat shirt and stuff it, it makes a wonderful cuddle pillow for your child. Go to Good Will or Salvation Army stores and see what they have their in the way of toys and clothes. As for your bf, give him coupons for a massage, get him a book or DVD (Walmart has them for as little as $5.50).

something that you could all do together that would be free is to take an evening stroll together and look at christmas lights or go to the dollar store and get a picture album and make an album of pictures of all of you.

I made some iron transfers & bought inexpensive t-shirts/sweat shirts for family members last year, with pictures of kids in the family & "#1 Dad" (stuff like that). They LOVED them, & it was very inexpensive. For my husband, he loves sports & his truck. I get him little stocking stuffers from his fav teams, or little gadgets for his truck, & he loves it!

you may celebrate it in a simple way. just prepare a simple dinner for your family on christmas eve. you may also make personalized greeting cards and give to those people who are important to you.
