Myfriend's mom told him he can't like me?

Now he is flirting like crazy with me. What is he doing?

His friend told me that his mom said he can't like me. (He and I have just been sitting with eachother and holding hands,) Now he is doing things just to get my attention. I really like him, but I think he doesn't know that I know his mom said no. That doesn't make since, but that is as good as I can get.
