You have to learn what works for you, but the best tricks are usually relating your knowledge to something else. Use anagrams to memorize like PEMDEC for the order of operations. I always created rhymes or songs to remember. The capital of New Mexic-hohoho is SANTA fe. See?? Make it fun.
