You really want to know why? Because the Christian church is controlled by heterosexuals, and they are NOT interested in chastity for themselves. Make sense now?

You might not like what I have to say, but bear with me. I hope it at least gives you some things to think about it.
I believe that God has standards and rules and that those who call themselves His followers should be trying to live according to those standards and rules. These standards are expressed in God's Word, the Bible. The Bible specifically forbids homosexual behavior in both the Old and New Testaments (Leviticus 18:22, 1 Corinthians 6:9, etc.). Therefore, if one is attempting to live according to the Bible, one should attempt to eliminate homosexual behavior from his/her life.
You assert that sexual preference is not a choice. I do not know whether it is or not. I do believe that it is not abnormal for fallen human beings to desire things that are against God's will. We often desire to hurt people, steal, lie, disobey our parents, or have sexual relations outside of marriage. But I don't think you would say that wanting to do these things makes them acceptable things to do. Neither does the desire for a physical relationship with someone of the same gender make such a relationship acceptable.
As for heterosexual behavior, God imposes limits here, as well. Fornication and adultery are forbidden. Basically, God designed intercourse to be between a married man and his wife. There is nothing in the Bible to indicate anything else.
This is a tough subject. I'm glad you asked, and I hope you find an answer that satisfies you and the Truth.

sorry but I'm gonna go a little Biblical with this one
Remember the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, well nowhere does it say it was do to homosexual behavior, the sin that brought forth utter and complete anihilation was PROMISCUITY.
A god of love would not create a being with no way of expressing intimacy with it's partner. We were made to love a mate for life, our complement, our "other half". Love is a gift, no one has the right to tell anyone else how to express it.
I think you're going to the wrong church, by what you say, it seems they're not showing the love and tolerance Jesus taught.

Because the Bible calls homosexuality a sin. Therefore, if that is the only sex you desire, it is forbidden. Heteros are required to abstain except for inside the marriage covenant. And I beg to differ about it being a choice. I understand the sentiment, I was there myself, I didn't choose to go into it. But... I did make the choice to get out. It took 8 hard years of struggle, but I got out. Freedom is possible if you're willing to go through the process.
If God had meant there to be homosexual relationships, there would have been mention of some people that were like that, that didn't get obliterated. There were plenty of them around in Jesus' day in the Roman empire, so why are none of them mentioned among Jesus' disciples or followers?? He knew this would be an issue today, so He would've mentioned it somewhere. But no, it only lists it as sin, offense, and those who do so will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. It is very clear in the Bible.

I don't know where you come up with your ideas.
Heterosexuals are expected to surrender to chastity, at least until they marry, and then they are expected to be completely faithful to that one partner for life. They are not supposed to divorce except for the reason of sexual impurity.
Sex is not something you cannot control. You make a conscious choice whether or not to have sex, and who (or what) to have sex with. God expects you to obey His laws.
If you truly love Jesus, you will bring your sin to Him, and accept His help to overcome it.
Believe it or not, everyone has urges to do things that are not in line with God's laws. I do, the men who pass around the collection plate do, the members of the choir do, that sweet little old lady with the thinning hair who sits in the third pew does....yes, even the pastor has sinful desires. Christians are expected to control those desires, and even overcome them, but it takes time, and it takes serious effort...but do not dismay. Jesus is there to help them to do it.
If you love Jesus, and if you respect what He did for you, you will try to live a life that honors Him. That doesn't mean being a self-indulgent brat, it means allowing Jesus to work within you, sanctifying and purifying you. You just have to let Him do it.
If you don't love Him enough to respect His laws, how can you call yourself a Christian?

Heteros DO have to surrender to chastity. Only the Marriage Bed is undefiled. Singles need to be just as chaste as homos, and for the same reason. We ALL have our 'favorite' sins that are hard to rebuke. Even marrieds. But it is our duty to make the attempt.

Heterosexuals who are not married should not engage in sexual activities that is a sin. All single people should be chaste. Homosexuality is prohibited that is why to engage in a homosexual act is wrong. If a person is homosexual they should not participate in sexual acts, the sexual acts are the sin. If you believe that homosexuality is a choice, you do not have to act on your choices.

It is possible to come out of a homosexual lifestyle and be in a normal, heterosexual relationship.
But here's my view on homosexuality.Assuming that people are born gay(which I don't believe),it is still a sin to commit homosexual acts.Just like we are all born sinners, but that doesn't give us an excuse to commit sins by saying 'I can't help it,I was made that way'.

none of us are to be sexually active before we are married. but if you are homosexual and sexually active as a homosexual then you are sinning. God loves you but he hates your sin.
