Have you noticed that Christians, at least on this board, are one of two extremes?

Some of them (sadly, the minority) are EXTREMELY kind, good, benevolent, graceful, and intelligent people!

However, the others are outright jerks that you would not want to spend eternity in Heaven with, for such an experience would by default become Hell!

This observation of the two extremes of the Christians seems really apparent to me, but I might be the only one. Basically, I'm wondering, have you seen this too?

I agree 100%. It's disconcerting to some degree because it really does give a poor impression of Christianity as a whole even though we know and acknowledge that not all of the Christians here are rude, arrogant, jerks.

People are mentioning that this is true for all groups, but I'm guessing that you're bringing this up because the bad behavior directly contradicts their beliefs in the case of Christians.

I've noticed another category. Some people are just plain intolerant. It's not mean-spirited, just closed-minded. It's easy to mix them in with the second category, but I think there's a distinction. The one's who like to flaunt their salvation and talk about laughing at us when we go to hell, well they fit into your second category.

A basic answer to that is that there is a distinction between intellectual belief in Christianity and acting with the virtue of Christ.

Many Christians falsely believe that one is saved by faith alone.

But more than faith is needed.

We need to act with virtue and charity towards others to be saved.

That is all through the Bible.

(Romans 14:11-12) For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

(Rom 14:12) So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Thanks, RR
