Its because they are selfish and immature. If you can't afford em- dont have em. THats what I think. If you come upon hardships after the fact, thats totally different. But its annoying when you see people recieving financial aid- and they keep on poppin out the kids!

accidents happen....
I have 3 kids, 2 of which were completely unplanned. I will admit, some people abuse the system to get financial support, tho it hardly seems like an easy way out. Parenting is the hardest job known to man.
My youngets 2 children are 14 months apart. The youngest of which was unplanned. It is incredibly expensive, and we are struggling financially, however, we love all of our children and don't regret our laps of judgement on those 2 separate occasions. And even though we may not be able to afford all the grandest things right now, we do have a great, loving family. We did not start our family with the aproach of "self-indused poverty". And we are not in the poverty level.
But to bring my focus back on your question. Some people have surprises, and others have accidents. Some want an "easier" income through the state. While others want to enjoy their families. But Kids are worth every sent we spend on them. If you don't like or want kids, don't have them. It sounds to me like you are not ready, nor should have any kids in teh future until your attitude of children and family changes.

Actually kids are not that expensive. It is something that you wouldn't understand until you have children. I don't call not being able to buy every little thing my heart desires poverty. I think as a parent we don't worry so much about the things we want. We love our children. I think a better question here would be why do people have kids they don't care about or that they don't WANT to take care of? I love my children and I don't believe I live in poverty because of it. Besides.. the love I get from them is more than any dollar amount could buy. It is awesome!!!!

i have 4, and its a bit of a strugle, we are not at the povety stage yet, we can afford to treat the kids now and again but we dont have any money to spare.
its called mother nature, i didnt ask for twins, i wanted and planend to have 3 kids, and have enough money to spoil them, then that 3rd turned out to be the 4th as well.
you cant do anything with the cards mother nature deals you, sometimes you can be on the pill and your partner useing a condom and them boom your pregneat, accidents happen.
no one sits down and thinks "hmm i am sturggleing to pay the rent, i know lets have a baby!"
also some people may have been a lot better off when their kids where young, but they could of lost their job or an accident is stoping them from working

If your smart babies don't cost that much money. Breast feeding for example saves a ton of cash. Also cloth diapers save a small fortune. Those people that do go broke due to children don't care anyways, they are happier giving love to their kids the having a bank full of money. By the way I'm 20 with 2 kids managed to go to school, I'm now an Aesthetician and was never broke in the process.

That is a simple question to answer. Most people, whom live in Western countries, that are poor, are poor because they make very bad choices. That’s right, they lack the motivation, to better themselves.
Having children is a side-effect, of having unprotected sex. How can you get an unmotivated person to use birth-control effectively? You can’t. Why, because birth control requires good motivation!

Some religious people believe that their goal in life is to get married and have kids. They believe that birth control is allowed only if you can't handle any more children.
To each their own.

well as with life sometimes you make choices and then later down the line you'll see if it was a good choice or not. i wouldnt say children are expensive, but life itself. im sure at the time they were doing great, but then got the kid and didnt know things were gonna be so difficult. sometimes you just have to do and figure out things for yourself. but dont fuss at them help them, cause it sounds like you're fussing.
love jen.

Because not everyone views having children as self induced poverty.

Some because they have no self-control and some because they're willing to sacrifice to raise a baby and work so they can have more money to take care of it as for the rest I don't know.
