I have come to believe that religion is a denial of fact where it becomes a plausible excuse to not take control of our own fates and accept our own responsibilities as the human race in general. Live a certain way within established rules and be promised heaven or waging war in the name of your god is all detrimental to survivability of the human race.

The bottom line: I'd like to find a way to educate the need of a decrease of religion in people's lives or alter it in a way to increase variety and numbers of the gene pool to place more security in the survivability of all of us for generations to come. What efforts can one person do?

It kinda seems like santa claus you know. When your a kid you believe in santa claus but when you find out hes not real you just feel bad. It kinda seems that way with the religious people they want to believe in it because they are to afraid to take control of their own fates like you said, but all you could do is the same thing that religious people do except you Educate children and other people about real life and hope that they pass that on to others. Its all what people believe you can't force it on them let them believe what they want to just as long as its not affecting your life.

I think the best thing your can do is read a Bible, and then read a couple of history books. Yes, people have done some bad things in the name of religion (any religion), but a bunch of really good things have happened, too. Through Christianity the western world was explored, Scientific Method was created, art flourished, the average person became literate, slaves became emancipated, women got the right to vote, medicine advanced, and human life became valued.

I believe the hope is in the children. The younger generation has much more access to information than ever before. If you can talk to kids in their teens, and educate them that god is a ridiculous concept, you have a chance of eventually changing society.

i'm at the moment studying a e book noted as 'The Case For faith' by Keith Ward, which addresses this question particularly early on. He shows particularly obviously that, even with the actual incontrovertible reality that the case is often recommend for a progression of comprehend-how from faith to technology, i.e. that faith replaced into initially created with a view to respond to such questions; that's in reality, incorrect. He even states that the in problem-free words those who look to recommend this manner of view are those who initiate off from the p.o.v. that faith is a fantasy. He seems at 2 analyze of religions that are/were in an curiously effortless state on the time of diagnosis, and shows that the analyze educate that those religions are not to any extent further attempting to comprehend and/or administration the international round them; yet particularly have a worldview that there's a reality "of transcendent, purpose, and commanding fee" that they are determining a thanks to extra healthful into. He says it truly is somewhat doubtful to assume that faith "replaced into initially in accordance to concern and incorrect tries to describe how issues take position"; yet, particularly, that religions "let us know that there's a transcendent intensity, underlying the seen and tangible, to which we can relate". human beings reported this transcendent reality then, and are nevertheless attentive to it now-that is why human beings participate in religions.

I'd have to agree with you...and the pig!
Educate, shove it down their throats if we have to! Just like they have been doing to us for years!
There is a whole world of literature out there that offers better spiritual & intellectual stimulation than the ONLY one that most of these fools seem to be reading!

you couold shoot yourself and let everyone have there own opinion like the constitution says

infact id kinda like you outa society but ur entitled to your own opinion even if it is shallow and not very well-considered

If someone belives in something for no apparent good reason they must have put thought into it contrary to what u think

To live longer as a human population I suggest a widespread non-natural selection where we weed out the bad ones sadly u might just be one of em

Not going to happen my friend..
Many people have used GOD in the name of religion for their own peversions on many people..

But people want need love hope healing in all areas of life which only comes from one source GOD..

Those people on United 93 that knew they were on thier way to death had one hope that GOD would be waiting on the other side when they entered...

Sorry, but none, you are outnumbered my friend. I do agree that religion is bad, but the word of God is truthful, but man has twisted it and tried to control it. Wars are waged, lives are threatened all in the name of God, but he is not amused by this, nor your denial. It's about a personal relationship with him, not a certain type of church or way of thinking.
