Oh, gosh, that's a tuff choice.
I suppose, if I have to choose only one...it would be the story of the man who brought his son who was troubled with a demon to Jesus to heal. Jesus was on the Mt of Tranfiguration at the time, and the disciples couldn't heal the child. When He got back, there was quite a crowd gathered, and I can imagine the poor father was tired and frustrated.
Jesus asked him if he believed He could heal the child. I love what that father says. "Lord, I believe...help thou my unbelief!"
Oh, what a heartfelt cry! How often I've felt the exact same way!
I believe that both father and son came away healed that afternoon!
God bless you!

John 9
I heard someone say once that there is no humor in the Bible. That guy clearly never read John 9! That (formerly) blind guy telling off the religious authorities is hilarious!

I love them all!!!
Really I do.. I love Ruth...that is an excellent story. And the story of Daniel- such wonderful faith! And Shadrach, Meshach and Abendego is wonderful- another one to show GREAT and awesome faith in God. Abraham and Sarah....
Jacob, Rachel and Leah....( and I love how in the end Jacob had great love for Leah)
And of course JESUS!! His birth, death and resurrection...of course most important! I also love the story of Solomon ( David's son) who asked the Lord for wisdom only- when the Lord said he would give him anything...I too pray for that! I love that story.

Elijah, when the "Firery Chairiot of the Lord" came down from the heavens and Picked him up so he didn't have to die here on earth. Gee, I'm still waiting on the next ship for me.

The best, yet the hardest to imagine, and the hardest to go through while on earth, is that of Jobe. He lost his business, wife, kids, and home, yet he still praised God. God then rewarded him abundantly, yet we all have such a hard time when things go bad. We complain, and we whine, and we cry, and then we wonder why God hasn't helped us.

From Mark 10: 17ff, the account of the man of property, and the message of the camel and the eye of the needle.
How people understand and interpret this is incredibly revealing as to their approach to the text of scripture.
In my experience very few handle it well.
(please note I do not count myself a Christian)

I was just thinking of posting this question myself. :) My favorite is Elijah on Mt. Carmel. The challenge to the prophets of Baal. They chant all day for Baal to burn up their altar and Elijah taunts them, "maybe he's sleeping, maybe he's on the toilet.." Then Elijah soaks his altar in water and prays once and poof! Fire from heaven proves who is the ONE TRUE GOD!! It's awesome!
