Sweetie,

Your problem is that on some level you want conservative Christians to be what they are not. That's just not going to happen.

My advice to you is to abandon all hope of ever changing them. They are not going to accept you. Oh, yeah, they will SAY stuff about loving YOU, just not your sinful ways, but the reality is that they do NOT love you or accept you. You are inferior. You are not one of the elect. You are less righteous than they are.

Find an accepting religious organization that honors God (whatever you understand God to be), and leave the fundies to stew in their own self-righteousness.

It would be good to include in the details of your question that, to say it is a sin to have a sexual relationship with a person of the same sex, is the same as saying it is a sin to be a man or woman. Logically, anybody can be a husband or wife, but it is a "sin" to have a husband and to be a man, or have a wife and be a woman. That is also not by choice, and it is acted upon as part of human nature.

What's funny is that the country (and political party) that runs on greed (a sin), makes laws against one sin, while bending and breaking laws in violation of many others. What makes a homosexual any more of a sinner than the rest of Wonka's golden ticket winners?

If it were classified as a birth defect then you would not have to repent. So I would say being BORN that way is a sexual defect and the person has no choice, but society has chosen to ignore the fact that it is a birth defect. So if society is holding back on the classification its because they do not want these people in their functions and that would be discrimination.
So the church uses that one line in the bible to keep these people from being saved and enjoy the gospel of Jesus with god's other creators. So the are the religions saying that all birth defected people are going to hell because they do not have the same make up as what they perceive as normal god type people.

People say that there is this "gene" yet I've not read anything that backs that claim up. I do believe, however, that some people are born with less than normal x or y chromosones, which would explain some men being more feminine and woman being more masculine, but a homosexual gene, sorry I'm not buying that. I do believe you should repent for sexual sin, such as being addicted to porn, or having sex with men on a casual basis, but that goes for straight people too, so they should get of gay's backs. This is the biggest struggle, I think many gay people have, or least the one's who are or were Christians before they began struggling with their sexual orientation.

They haven't found a gene, but they have found biological differences in the brain between homosexuals and heterosexuals.

Based on that, you are correct, sexual "preference" is not a preference at all; it is determined by nature, not by oneself.

Preference means choice. But you are right on one note: You can't choose the way your body responds to certain people. You can not choose the way you feel. You do ,however, choose to carry on any lifestyle that 'suits' you. Who is to say that homosexuality is wrong though?

First of all, it has not yet been proven that there is a gene for sexual preference.
Secondly, don't you realize that we are all have urges to sin that we did not choose?
Some examples:
Would you consider stealing a sin? What if the thief is a kleptomaniac who cannot control his/her urge to steal?
Would you consider lying a sin? What if the liar is a pathological liar who cannot control his/her urge to tell tall tales?
Let's get closer to home.
If there is a gene, as you and some others seem to think, that controls a person's sexuality, would that also apply to people whose sexual preference is children? Yes, I know...pedophilia is disgusting...oh, but some people do seem to have an uncontrollable attraction to children. If your sexual preference is genetic, do they have a choice?
On the other hand, there is help for all of these people, if they will only avail themselves of it. Jesus stands ready and willing to help anyone who will come to Him to overcome the sin in their lives.
Everyone has sin in their life. The question is, do you love Jesus enough to put it away from you? Or do you insist on wallowing in it, in essence, telling Him that His sacrifice means nothing to you, you intend to have your own way regardless of His laws??
It's up to you......

No, you are not born a homosexual, God would not create someone a "homo" and then tell them change or receive punishment.

The Bible does not call particular attention to homosexuals as a group to be ostracized or hated by Christians. Moreover, it does not teach that God will punish homosexuals or any of his creatures, by burning them in a fiery hell forever.

However, the Scriptures do set forth the moral standards of our Creator, which oftentimes run counter to modern-day mores. Homosexual acts, heterosexual sex between unmarried persons, and bestiality are all condemned in the Bible. (Exodus 22:19; Ephesians 5:3-5) God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of such sexual practices.

Regarding acts of homosexuality, God’s Word pointedly says: “This is a hateful thing.” God’s Law to Israel stipulated: “When a man lies down with a male the same as one lies down with a woman, both of them have done a detestable thing. They should be put to death without fail.” (Leviticus 20:13) The same punishment was prescribed for those committing bestiality, incest, and adultery.

The apostle Paul was inspired to describe homosexual acts as expressions of “disgraceful sexual appetites” and as “contrary to nature.” He writes: “That is why God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites, for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene and receiving in themselves the full recompense, which was due for their error. And just as they did not approve of holding God in accurate knowledge, God gave them up to a disapproved mental state, to do the things not fitting.”

The Scriptures offer no apologies, no concessions, no ambiguity; homosexual practices, adultery, fornication, are all repulsive in God’s sight. Accordingly, true Christians do not water down the Bible’s position on “disgraceful sexual appetites” merely to become more popular or more acceptable to modern culture. Nor do they agree with any movement dedicated to the promotion of homosexuality as a normal life-style.

When religious leaders campaign for the ordination of homosexuals and Lesbians, what effect does this have on members of their churches, especially the young people? Is it not an inducement to experiment with sex outside marriage? In contrast, God’s Word urges Christians to “flee from fornication.” If a fellow believer falls into such sin, loving help is given with a view to restoring the person to God’s favor. What if this help is rejected? The Bible states that unless such ones repent, they ‘will not inherit God’s kingdom.

If anyone thinks he is born gay, then he needs to be "born again"; of the father, son and holy ghost!

The Bible is specific about men not laying with men and acting effeminate; this is "proven" in the word. It is no different than people who kill, people who sleep around etc. It is proven as well that genetically you can be born psychotic, you can chemically be a nympho, BUT that does not mean it is RIGHT or BIBLICAL to do these things, because a Dr. can prove you were "born this way".

The bible says, "there is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end there of is death." Somthing can feel right to you all day long, but it doesn't mean God is pleased...ALL sin brings about ramifications, regardless of our justifications for it.
