Vaccinations are preventative: They keep you from becoming ill from certain infectious diseases by preparing your immune system in advance of the infection.

Antibiotics are therapeutic (usually). A disadvantage is that some infectious organisms can develop resistance to antibiotics, so that the drugs are no longer effective.

The advantage of using a vaccination is that it will protect you from the disease in which it was intended for - ie. mumps, measles, chicken pox, flu, etc. A disadvantage of using antibiotics is that it can lead to the development of stronger more virulent bacteria, ie. - Methacillin resistant staph aureus.

Antibiotics can be tough on your kidneys after a while. Vaccinations are great because you would really want to prevent a problem instead of waiting around for it to happen.

They are for two totally different things. Vaccinations help fight against viruses (like the flu), while antibiotics fight against bacteria (like strep throat). Go to Wikipedia or something for the differences between a virus and bacteria.
