What do you do when you've had an argument with a boyfriend and he then says you've messed up and have a lot to do to get him back, tells you it won't be easy for you because he won't let it? What is he up to and what do you do?

He wants to see you sweat to make him feel like a flippin God. This guy sounds like he has a huge ego. Its not like you lost the world LoL. I would move on b/c he sounds like he's into himself a little TOO much, and whenever ppl are self absorbed like that, its never good in any relationship.

It sounds almost like he is playing games. Is he intentionally making the situation worst? If so than you should not stand for it!! No matter how bad you messed up, if he is not totally cutting you off than he must still want to be with you. He is just trying to take advantage of the opportunity to play hard to get!! DON”T play into this with him.

If you are sorry for your part in the argument, say so. It may inspire him to apologise as well. If he doesn't, I'd say that is a bad sign. Couples who are unable to do "repair" after a fight aren't likely to have a promising future. Blame for an argument rarely belongs exclusively to one side; it generally takes two to argue. Own your side and see if he's willing to own his.

That sounds kind of mean. It's like he wants you to work really hard to get back into his good graces, when ending an argument and getting through it is a mutual thing. I'm not so sure I'd want to get him back. He sounds kind of manipulative and cruel.

He's playing games. If I was in the wrong I'd apologize and try to make it right, but not grovel (or worse) because they thought they had the upper hand.

If he cares about you he'll accept the apology (if it's approrpriate) and your attempt at atonement...

...if he's not going to let it "be easy" then I'd seriously consider whether or not he's worth trying to stay with...

You need to let him go. Anytime a person will hold a grudge and make it harder to love them, they become expendable in my eyes. There are too many other men in this world, for you to be spending wasted time on someone who has already told you they are about to make your life a living hell.

Baby move on and dont let 10 years of pain and frustration go by before you do.

Also..sounds to me like the precursor to cheating on his part to get back at you....

You do what I do when the so-called "other half" stromed out and ended up in London, then telephoned to say that he'd run out of money and that I had to send him the train fare.

Another six months, and I'll be giving his things away to the local charity-shop.

What strikes me is that he won't talk to you about it. He sounds like a loser and you should move on. There are plenty of happy people out there. No need to spend life on crazy or unhappy people.

Well, what did you argue about?

Think about this: adult relationships are about making each other better than we would have been. Is this guy forcing you to look at yourself to make you better, or is he just on a power play to get you to cave so he can say he's better than you?

That's your answer. Hope it helps.

Call his bluff, tell him 'jeez that's too bad, cause I have to let you go, but in my own way I will always love you and only you, kisses bye' then don't call, don't ask and when he calls or shows up, laugh at him, cause he is a fool you know.
