I usually take some advil and lay on my belly with a heating pad on hot. If you don't have a heating pad you can fill a water bottle with warm water. If your cramps are severe your doctor could prescribe you muscle relaxers, which are helpful for extreme pain. Also, exercising with sretching (i.e. yoga) helps some, but only if you are in moderate pain.
