im 17 yrs. old tuning 18 in march and ive been with my boyfriend for about nine months.....and we're in love but how do i know when its the right time to become sexually active with him?

Hey! I'm 17 and I think that the right time for that is after marriage. You can never go wrong then. I mean before marriage, you go through alot of things that you don't even want to get into.

sweetie, i'd say wait. Love requires time, commitment, struggles, sticking together and you guys have been together for only 9 months besides the fact that you are almost only 18. Sweetie, just hold off. The time comes when you feel it but thats not always enough. Think about one thing though ok? Ask yourself if you get pregnant.. Will you be able to afford a child? Alone because maybe he'll leave you if you get pregnant sweetie. If you can handle it then go ahead but a child is a huge responsability and you just never know because condoms are not 100 percent safe and everything has a consequence. Sweetie, just wait until marriage.. make it special and meaningful with the man you will be with the rest of your life!!

If your asking then you are not ready.
I know that seems like a flip answer however it is true. There is a change in thought process, a change in how you see things. It's the move from adolescence into adulthood. Do you remember when you were a child and then one day things seemed different, how you once saw things isn't how you saw them anymore? Another one of those moments is coming.
Just because you CAN have sex w/ someone doesn't mean you SHOULD have sex. Wait until you are sure, wait until you are committed to each other long term. (I'm not a marriage only pusher) I will say this, just having sex because you can is pretty empty. (experience) There is NO ONE like your first, and if things should end badly with him...the pain is horrific.

Keep it if you can because you may break up with this boy and your virginity is the most wonderful thing for you to guard. 9 months at your age to go with a boy isn't"t that long. Once it's gone you can't get it back and then you have to explain to the person you fall in love with where it went.

When:
1. You can handle being pregnant if it occurs
2. You can handle an STD if it occurs
3. You are on a reliable method of contraception and are using it properly
4. You are also making sure condoms are used, every time
5. You can handle the emotional consequences of intimacy with another person

Well i am also a virgin but loosing ur virginity is something u plan u lose it when ever ur ready u can't plan things like this so whenever ur ready ur going to be able to tell so dont sweat it

That depends on your own set of morals. Generally speaking though, it sounds like you've gone the distance. If you care for him and believe he cares for you, go fo it. (Just use protection! You sound like a nice young lady!)

ummm, well. i think you should wait till marriage. you don't want to lose it unless you have true, honest stability. but that's just my personal opinion. by the way, i know you're in love, so if you are, then you can wait till you're fully stable.
