Yep. We are all parts of the body of Christ. Each has some kind of talent. We just have to make sure we don't bury it.

I highly doubt it.

I think we all have special skills that can help us through life, or to enable us to help others. But the fact is, a lot about our personalities depends on how we use those 'gifts'.

I don't really have any gifts, but I like to help out at the local community centre where I can. I can't say that it's a way of using the gifts I was given...because I got jibbed on in the gifts department lol

I think, if you have something you consider a gift and you have an idea of what you want to do with it, then go ahead and do it. God might have a special assignment just for you, and if that makes you feel better and helps you achieve something, then good on you.

God is an element of faith, and faith is what keeps us going and gives us the strength and inspiration to carry on and make good decisions and help us atone for the bad. So take that and use it, and feel good in knowing that you're doing what you believe God wants you to do.

Elvis????

Uh, no. First of all, an 'assignment' is not a gift, it's a task. It's a command. A gift is something given with nothing expected in exchange. No payment, no chore, no task, nothing. Otherwise it's not a gift.

Secondly, much of what we become able to do, (like sing, or be compassionate) is LEARNED, not 'given'. We do not emerge from the womb able to play guitar, we decide we want to learn, and we do so. It's not genetic, its a learned ability.

Lastly, just live your life. Stop worrying about what others might want for or from you and start worrying about what you want or expect from yourself.

Yep. Those who are not part of the world help us to achieve the goals we set for ourself before we became a part of it.

My assignment is to eat my weight in peanuts. It is tricky. Once I start getting close, my weight goes up. So I eat more. I am not sure it is possible. Such is my burden.
