I have had guns all of my life....please let me say that although this would cause pain...this is not a good idea. If you ever intend to produce a firearm to defend yourself or your home, you had better be prepared to kill someone. You never shoot to cause pain or to wound....you shoot to kill. Anyone who teaches firearms courses will tell you this same thing. If you do NOT intend to kill, then you should simply try to run away or call police...some other thing. Only produce a firearm if you are willing to kill or you may be the one who is killed. Most burglars or prowlers want to steal something and get out...they don't want any contact with you. However, if you are armed, they WILL shoot back. Although the pain from a BB might be intense, it will not make someone lay down...especially someone in fear for their life.

You bought a Daisy 693.
It's a .177 caliber, and you expect to STOP somebody
with that. HAHAHA, sorry that was very funny. You might, might
stop a cat, or a small dog, but not a human being.
Stock factory Co2 guns don't even produce enough FPE
(foot pound energy) to stop a human.
Only highly modified, Co2, adult springers, or pcp (pre charged pneumatics) could, and can stop a human being. But only those types of guns. There are a few air gun tuners here in the U.S. that can make a stock air gun into a lethal weapon, powerful enough to kill a human, but I won't tell you who, or where they're at.
Don't even try to shoot somebody with a bone stock 963.
You'll get your azz whipped.

When people ask these questions they usually want people to answer in way that says yes. I am hoping you are looking for an answer not support. Anyway, the answer is a resounding no. If a guy has a weapon he is going to shoot you, stab you, etc.
I have read stories of people getting shot with .22 lr and still fighting. I know of one case where a bodybuilder got shot with a 9mm in the chest a couple of times and still beat the police officer down.
With weak instruments, I'm not sure home defense is a great idea.

It's primarily the barrel length combined with not just the calibre of the ammo but also the load. A 5.56 is designed and intended for ranges out to 300 meters or more. A 9mm pistol round is designed to be accurate out to maybe 50 feet and at 50 feet the shooter needs to be a very good shot to hit what he's aiming at.

If you shoot an attacker with a BB gun, he will then kill you.
Do not use anything like this.....it's better to run.
Since your state has elected anti-gun fascists into office, they have taken away your Constitutional Rights to defend yourself. Please do what you can to vote these tyrants out of office.
When I was a kid before lawsuits and pansy parents, we used to play war and actually used our BB guns on each other. We'd wear goggles out of dad's workshop or from the surplus store, but that was it. I still bear a few scars from the ones that penetrated skin and had to be cut out with a pocket knife.
At my wedding a couple of years back, myself and two neighborhood kids who had not been together in one place for 30 years had a grand time showing our wives our scars....there were 11 between the three of us that were still visible.

My pellet gun is 695 fps and will shoot through a bird and make a cat jump in the air about 3 feet, but yours may only feel like a bee sting or a little worse leaving a small welt..If you want to protect yourself from an intruder better get a 9mm..

If anyone is in your house that you consider a threat, nuetralizing the threat or retreat are the only two reasonable courses of action, not a BB gun

Good god yes - but some will just run at you faster knowing less shots at a faster pace - then beat the living crap out of you - unless you shoot their eyes out of coarse. ouch. I bet a paintball gun would hurt worse. Man - those hurt - and anybody here who says they don't - is a liar.

Yeap it will sting a little and it is really going to p**s them off. If they have a hand gun they are going to shoot back also.
Either get yourself a real gun or forget it. All you are going to do is p**s them off with a BB gun.

In the first place,if someone breaks into your house, you're unlikely to have the presence of mind to aim properly to place your shot.In the second place, unless you hit him in the eyeball, and even if you do,you're really going to scare heck out of him and piss him off. Then how are you going to deal with him ?
