Well, first of all, the business sounds great. Maybe you could help him set up his own website to sell them, or maybe even a booth at a city faire or something like that. I think you should continue to encourage him in his endeavor!
The thing with the school: A couple of things...the teacher needs to get whatever this item is so does it really matter if he buys it from a student?
If it does, maybe you will have to sit down with your son and explain the situation, and that you accidentally broke the rules. You might have to have your son give the teacher his money back, and just call it a "gift". After that, he will just have to sell his items somewhere where it's allowed (like off his new website - the teacher could buy it from him that way, couldn't he?)
He could also sell them to the kids off campus, I would guess, so all he's gonna have to do is set up shop down the street from the school.
It sounds like maybe his mom is your ex, so looking for support from her is probably not going to happen. Make this your thing with him, and leave her out of it. Once it's up and running, and he's happy and doing good, hopefully she'll come around.

No kid is too young to start a business. It doesn't have to be an official/real business. It's like starting up a lemonade stand. That can be considered a business, but it's not a real one, now, is it? Talk to the mother about it. Find out her opinion then try to argue your case.
Also, make sure the principal is OK with the "business". Make sure he's following the rules on selling stuff at school.

You are doing the right thing, however every business has to follow rules, such as business licenses, etc. Have your son go to the principal to inquire about selling the items. If he cannot get permission, then he cannot do it. Businesses are always bound by red tape and governmental interference. If nothing else, he'll learn that business is hard.
Or you could teach him the beauty of the black market and avoid the principal all together.

I think it's great he has wanted to start his own 'business', it can help teach him a few lessons. But I'm concerned about doing it in school, you said he's selling them in this club he's in? I don't see anything wrong with selling them in the club as long as it is like an after school club and nothing that goes on during school hours.

I think it is an awesome idea!! Tell Mom that it is a great learning experience for your son. It will bring out his creativity and teach him how to support HIS family when he is grown. Think of all the positives that you could possibly think of then go to her and tell her what he is doing and why, tell her all the positives. Do not let her come to you with this. I think it would be best if you tell her.

I don't think you or your child is doing anything wrong. Try telling his mother that it makes your son happy, he is learning the basics about business, and he is having fun. Making this a positive experiance can lead your child to be sucessful in the future.

do no longer attempt the police element, this might purely create a terror for police officers and if ever in a emergency situation he/she would desire to no longer opt for to come back in touch with one. you're going the right way by using punishing him and doing away with some privileges like swimming, attempt and seek for a automobile seat that has the 5 lock/buckle harness, i'm particular there are different automobile seats that would grant greater protection and that don't enable him to incredibly unbuckle himself/herself.
