Rapid boiling water, and lots of it, salted to flavor pasta ( deosnt do anything for sticking). It takes alot of water to dilute the starch that comes out of the pasta, starch turns to "glue" Don't add oil, and DONT OVERCOOK. Overcooking causes the outside of the pasta to become creamy, AKA, glue.

Adding oil will never do anything about the sticking, it is just a myth. Think back to 1st grade science: oil + water = water with oil floating on the top. The oil will never even touch the spaghetti where it needs it, and you might be wasting some good olive oil.

Also, salt only seasons the pasta, it does nothing with the sticking.

1. Try using more water.

2. Keep it at a rolling boil, not just a simmer.

3. Stir it a bit every now and then to make sure it isn't sticking, especially when you first dump the spaghetti in and the water temp has dropped.

Try stirring your spaghetti once in a while when it's boiling. It helps to break up clumps and allows spaghetti to cook more evenly.Hope this helps! Also adding a little bit of oil, and salt to water before it starts boiling.

first make sure the pot is deep/wide enough to accomodate the spaghetti and filled with enough water to completely cover desired amount of spaghetti

bring water to a rapid boil and add some kosher or sea salt

next add the spaghetti a little bit at a time and stir immediately until it's submerged into the water then add more, repeat until all desired spaghetti is in

keep stirring every few minutes or so until desired doneness

I do this everytime I make any pasta and mine turns out perfect everytime!

It is extremely important that you use a large enough pot for sufficient water. Hold the spaghetti at one end and spread it out fan-shaped as you lower it into the BOILING water. Stir the spaghetti every so often while it is cooking.

Be sure to wait until the water is fully boiling before putting the noodles in, and sprinkle a bit of salt in the water. Keep stirring!

Bigger pan, more water, break spagetti in half before putting it in the water. Are you keeping the water at a full boil while cooking? Make sure water is at a rolling boil throughout cooking time, and occasionally stir to separate noodles.

though this would take a little time..try to put the spaghetti sticks one by one or use a bid pot with a lot of water, then put oil...then hold the bundle of spaghetti in the middle...and in the middle of the pot(above the pot)position your hand and in a circular motion (like a fan)let go of the spaghetti slowly...constantly stir the noodles....hope this works for you...goodluck
