s-video does not carry HDTV signals. If you use that connection, you are watching standard definition TV even if the station broadcasts HDTV. You must use either component cables or HDMI to get HDTV.

An s-video cable will give you a better picture than plain old RCA cables...
But if you want HDTV on your HDTV, get an HDMI cable (as long as the video output device you're going to use supports the full digital interface).
Forget s-video, it's so 90's ;-)

HDTV video quality is far above s video so not a good idea

you want a fully digitaly signal s video wont give you the best picture
