I know they believe that only 144,000 people from Earth are getting into Heaven.

Is it predetermined who is going?
If it is, how does God choose?
If not, why would you get people to convert, thereby ruining your chances to get in?

It is a misquoted Scripture. The 144,000 are Jewish men, with 12000 in each tribe, who will during the Tribulation time, be witnessing to those left behind about God. They will also be virgin Jewish men. Unless the Jehovah witness people are all Jewish then they are not qualified. Also, the JW's do identify people in their religion as being part of this 144K and they are not all virgins so they have a faulty interpretation of scripture in this and other aspects. If you keep reading further, there is a number that no man can number which are mentioned afterwards. Please contact me or read in Revelation for yourself on this account.

"SNEEZE ME A QUESTION" and "hello T" seem to know very little about Jehovah's Witnesses, 90% of what they gave you as their answer is not true.

Rev. 7:4-8: “I heard the number of those who were sealed, a hundred and forty-four thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel: . . . Judah . . . Reuben . . . Gad . . . Asher . . . Naphtali . . . Manasseh . . . Simeon . . . Levi . . . Issachar . . . Zebulun . . . Joseph . . . Benjamin.” (These cannot be the tribes of natural Israel because there never was a tribe of Joseph, the tribes of Ephraim and Dan are not included in the list here, and the Levites were set aside for service in connection with the temple but were not reckoned as one of the 12 tribes. See Numbers 1:4-16.)

Is the number 144,000 merely symbolic?

The answer is indicated by the fact that, after mention of the definite number 144,000, Revelation 7:9 refers to “a great crowd, which no man was able to number.” If the number 144,000 were not literal it would lack meaning as a contrast to the “great crowd.” Viewing the number as literal agrees with Jesus’ statement at Matthew 22:14 regarding the Kingdom of the heavens: “There are many invited, but few chosen.”

What will those who go to heaven do there?
Rev. 20:6: “They will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him for the thousand years.”
144,000 will rule as "kings & priests" with Jesus, if you rule, there must be subjects in order for one to be a ruler. Billions of people will be resurrected to live on the Earth, they will be the people under this rulership.

This was King David's hope:

Will all true Christians perhaps be taken to heaven after the great tribulation? Psalms 37:9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. Psalms 37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. Psalms 37:22 For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off. Psalms 37:29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.

Also the 144,000 include men and women.

I got you on that one....
They have recently changed the number to a larger amount to accomidate more people....
They think that the ones that are going are the ones that covert to their religion they think they are the only true religion and that Jesus is NOT comming back to the earth that they will replace Jesus on earth and run the world....
By the way the 144000 are MEN that are pure that have never touched a woman...And they are Jews not JW's
I have had them come to my house and this is the info they gave me....

The preaching work is performed because Jesus commanded it, not because it benefits Jehovah's Witnesses personally or as a religion. Jehovah's Witnesses expect that many thousands of the 144,000 have never set foot in a Kingdom Hall or read 'The Watchtower'.

The fact is that the vast majority of Witnesses hope to enjoy life ON EARTH forever, rather than in heaven. Jehovah's Witnesses understand heaven to refer to the dwelling place of spirit creatures such as Jesus and the angels. They understand the Scriptures to teach that exactly 144,000 humans will join Christ Jesus as kings and priests to administer God's Kingdom (which will soon replace all earthly governments).
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
(Revelation 14:1) Lamb [Jesus] standing upon the Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand
(Revelation 20:6) they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him

The men and women who make up the 144,000 are selected by God from among two thousand years of Christians. Over whom will they rule? Over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”

Hell is NOT someplace/something mankind needs to fear; there is no suffering in the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire

Almighty Jehovah God selects those few who have the heavenly calling. Each person "feels" his own hope and each person's hope remains unquestioned by his fellow Christians. Still the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%*) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]

Jesus was the first, so everyone that died before him are out. It's probably like the way they chose the Apostles. Just because your chosen doesn't mean you're save, look what happened to Judas. Millions will live on earth and the dead will be resurrected after Armageddon. Funny how Jesus talked so much about resurrection hope of the dead and you never hear it from Christendom.

They also believe that those good JW's who don't go to Heaven will inherit the Earth.
Revelation actually says that the 144,000 will be of the 12 tribes (Israel). It goes on to say that millions of others will be there. The JW's have re-interpreted the whole Bible to suit their own ideas.

According the the JW at my job she says you know you are "one of the chosen" from birth. I don't agree, because then it would be pointless for the rest of them to even be good people.
