Here's something new for you...Not popping your zits WILL give you scars. One of my uncle's has a very scarred and pited face now because he never popped his pimples. I've also gotten a couple scars from not popping. Try explaining that to a dermatologist!

Overpopping - popping when a scab has formed after already popping - can cause scarring. I've done this as well. But when I just pop a zit normally, wash the area with a cleanser or wipe with alcohol, I NEVER scar, and always and only pop the zit when it's ready, it will have a large white head. Maybe I'm just special, or maybe the other people that say they got scars from acne either never really had acne, had it a whole lot worse than I did or they had some other type of acne that wasn't poppable, and yes there is a kind. It's called cystic acne, or blind zits. They never go away, it's something having to do with the oil ducts under your skin having problems and it's completely different than a normal pimple.

If you have oily skin, wash your face twice a day, once a day for dry skin. And make sure to exfoliate at least once a week to keep the dead skin cells from turning into acne. You can also steam your face...standing over a pot of boiling water, about a foot from it feels really good. Plus if you have very dry skin like mine this will help hydrate it. Try to not use concealer or foundation and if you do, keep it light and make sure to wash it off before sleeping. Keeping dirty hands away from your face will also help, and so will changing your pillow case every few days and wiping down your most used telephone or cell phone with rubbing alcohol. These are some ways to prevent it, but I highly believe in popping pimples. And I've never had them spread to other areas of my skin after popping them, I've also popped my blackheads and they went away, I never had any red bulge like the person above said. I think most of the reason these girls on here have such a bad problem with popping theirs is because of makeup. I never wear any at all, not even concealer, and whenever I pop them my face is already washed, my hands are clean and my pores are open. If you try to pop a pimple on skin that hasn't been washed recently and you have makeup on this will give you acne because this is when it gets pushed further into the skin, and I'm sure this is why they get it. Because my face looks fine. I pop a pimple and I never get another breakout.

I think it's considered a bad thing to do because popping a zit ups the risk of getting a scar from it. However, I have had zits in the past that I left alone and they popped by themselves and left scars anyway. And you're right, they do go away faster if you pop them. What I do is wash my hands really good before squeezing at one, because another bad thing about popping them is that if your hands are dirty, you can give yourself a staph infection. Don't squeeze blackheads, though. If you think a little black dot near your nose looks bad, wait and see how much you like it when it is a festering red blob after squeexing it. Best to leave those alone or exfoliate.

When you pop a zit, all the pus and junk comes to the surface and may spread to the surrounding skin. You may also be pushing the infection deeper into the skin by popping it, and that could increase the chance of scarring. It's generally a good idea to leave the zit alone. You know what they say: Pick on someone your own size!

Its actually not but you must have the right ways to pop them or else they could be come ugly scars.

Heres some good rules:

wouldn't use a pin to pop it, you may be contaminating the pimple. I hope that pin has been sterilized.
Popping pimples is like conducting surgery. Here are the tools:

1. Steam you face to open the pores. Steam using the hottest water your face can stand.

2. Clean your face with your cleanser. (here comes the surgical part)

3. Put on some latex gloves and make sure you have gauze handy.

4. Use your knuckles not your nail to squeeze the white fluid out. When the white fluid comes out stop squeezing and use the gauze to clean. If u keep squeezing one the white is gone u may cause the pimple to scar. (I have a bad habit of doing that) DON'T WIPE JUST PAT TO GET IF OFF. If you wipe you may spread the germs and contaminate yourself, which can cause more pimples.

5. After the surgery put a cool rag on your face to close your pores and splash witch hazel on your face. (something alcohol-free)

6. Apply acne medication and if needed moisturize afterwards with oil-free moisturizer, but you should moisturize as your daily regimen. At least one a day.

I know sometimes your face may not seem like it needs a moisturizer, but it won't ask. Like when your body when it needs water it doesn't ask. Usually you don't realize until those lips get dry or you feel dehydrated.

Products containing alcohol drys the face out. I know that may sound good, but you will regret it in the future. Dryness sometimes causes irritation and more breakouts.

I hope this helps and stop sticking that pin in your face.

Let me tell you a funny story about popping your pimples. My friend had a pimple right between the forehead so she decided to pop it cause it hurt. so she continued and nothing happen all she did was irritate the pimple. the next morning she woke up and was very swollen that her eyes were only a slit. We took her to the hospital because it was very scary to look at. Al the hospital they said that she did pop the pimple but it popped inside so they had to slice the skin open to clean the mess inside. It took weeks to heal and clean (she had to clean it 3X's a day) and know she has a ugly scar on her forehead. She said she will never pop a pimple again. So off course we always make fun of her expensive pimple. So don't pop them!

when you pop your zits, it yeah kinda does get rid of them for a while, duh it is gross, but it is REALLY bad for your skin. when you pop your zit, puss get embedded under your skin and turns the area around it puffy and red, also and germs on yor hands or around them will get in it, it also has potential to get infected, something you dont want, it also just creats more zits around that area of your face. So no it dosent get rid of them. alot of people think that scrubbing you face after u pop your zit will get rid of the pus, but it dosent, also popping zits, leads to bad skin problms as you get older....

please dont pop you zits, use a zit cream instad, it will dry out the area around thezit and help it go away faster then popping it, hope it helps!!!

it is not the popping of the zits that makes it bad,it is how you pop them. Here's a tip on how you pop a zit properly I have read these before but forgot where.before popping prepare a needle sterilize it with alcohol(better yet buy those disposable syringe needles they are sterilized already) and wash your hands! do not prick it on top but on the side of the zit put pressure after to remove the puss with a cotton ball.and don't touch it afte wards.

Rubbing alcohol. could sting, whether it is going to dry them out in one day. won't wanna apply it to the single close on your mouth although, only permit that one heal needless to say. you could no longer pop any of them, they'll grow to be contaminated and take longer to heal. in case you haven't any longer have been given rubbing alcohol, pass to a save and purchase a usual facial purifier. do no longer waste you cash on huge manufacturers, save manufacturers do precisely an identical. (in spite of the actuality that neutragena works like a attraction in the journey that your face is oily) Wash your face each and daily, even two times an afternoon and in the bathe. sparkling face skill sparkling pores, so no zits. If all else fails, pass to a dermatologist. they are in a position to supply you added information than anyone on right here (except somebody who solutions is a dermatologist)

we actually just talked about this at the doctors office i work at...
when you pop your zit you are exposing it to possible infection- which will end up looking much worse. they will go away after time if you leave it alone so its a risk ppl are willing to take since they don't always scar or get infected

Because if you squeeze it when it is not ready it can scar and damage the skin. It can push the pus deeper in and it mixes with your blood. It will go to your brain and it can cause infection, and may lead to death. Although it's very, very rare. I still do it, no biggie.
