Heyy, I have had shoulder, collarbone area pain for about 5 months and I am a cheerleader and during practice it always starts hurting again and sometimes it just randomly starts hurting during the day even if I'm not really doing anything and this has been going on for a long time. It first started being painful in like the back of my shoulder and then the pain moved to the front and like side, does anyone know what is wrong?

It could be tendinitis. Which I have on both my shoulders, first I
told my Dr. that my arm was hurting me and that it would stiffen
up and I could not move it or even raise it higher then my head.
Does this sound familiar? I had an MRI done on my left shoulder
at the Hospital, I had a referral by my Dr. and then again I'm an
Adult so it is easier for me. Well like the other girl mention go to the school nurse and tell her how painfull it is and hopefully she
will send a note home to your parent and they will get the picture
and take you to the Dr. and have you get check out. When you
do finally go tell the Dr. exactlly where the pain is how far it runs
down too, like does it go to your neck down to your arm. Something that he can work and look into. Other wise Dr. just
want to give medication and send you out the door. Ask for a MRI
to see if there is any Tendinitis or any other disfunstional disorder
going on, other wise you wouldn't be having these pains. If you
don't tell them they won't test you. I know They did this to me for
so many years, I was in pain for 20 years before they decided to
do some X-RAYS, MRI, CAT SCAN, BONE TEST all kinds of
things they just want to give me medications and I would get mad
at the Dr. and I would stop going to that Dr. and switch to a different Dr. until I found the right Dr. that did his job. So I hope
your parents open up their eye's and do the same.

Good Luck!!

"Of all the joints in the body, the shoulder probably offers the greatest range of movement yet it is a relatively unstable joint because the ball of the humerus bone doesn’t fit into the shoulder joint completely. Any injury, swelling, tear or entrapment of tendons can cause pain in the shoulder. Some common conditions causing pain in the shoulder include:

Rotator cuff tears.
Frozen shoulder.
Dislocation of the joint.
Tendinitis (inflammation of a tendon).
Arthritis of the shoulder.
Ruptured tendon.

A shoulder pain may also be a referred pain, meaning that the cause of pain occurs at a site other than the shoulder."

It could be bursitis. Have you tried putting ice on it? If you've had this for five months you should definitely see a doctor or a chiropractor. It could be inflammation. Start taking fish oil capsules. They are high in omega 3's which are very helpful for inflammatory conditions.
