Is there something I should/shouldn't be eating or a vitamin that will help? Shea butter and other creams don't work long term.

I use a product from a company called True Blue Spa that is called "Heel of Approval". If you use that with a foot scrub called "Toe the Line" every day for about a week...amazing results will happen on your feet. I had huge yellow and cracking callouses that are gone now. I use another product called called "Shea It Isn't So" every day and the more expensive "Heel of Approval" only once in a while.

Taking care of your feet is like brushing your teeth...you really have to lotion up every day to keep that ugly off your feet. My feet are as soft as a child's and I had terribly ugly problems before. I swear by this product.

Reading some of your other answers reminded me of something else...don't go bare foot on carpeted floors...the carpet sucks the moisture out of your feet. Wear socks and comfortable shoes. Bad shoes will give you callouses to but the ones I got were dry heels and toes from wearing sandles in the summer time...bad in dry climates. Moisturize and keep your feet covered most of the time. The bottoms of my feet feel like my face...and my face isn't all that bad! :)

One more thing you can do for yourself is drink more water. Nothing moisturizes the skin better than lots of pure clean water.

Calluses develop to help protect your foot from harm. Avoid wearing no shoes or ill fitting shoes. You can soften calluses by slathering a thick coat of plain Vaseline on your feet at night and covering with a snug thick pair of socks. You can also buy a n implement called a corn and callus trimmer and follow up after this with the pumice stone. I love to soak my feet in a foot bath with Johnsons Foot Soap, available in packets in most pharmacies. If i don't have time tho, I treat myself once in a while to a nice relaxing pedicure at the nail salon!

My husband has diabetic neuropathy of the feet. He has burning and shooting pains, which makes him move his legs a lot. He has trouble going to sleep because of this problem. Your symptoms can be a sign of diabetes. When blood glucose is elevated for long peroids of time it can cause nerve damage and this is what happened to my husband. My husband takes Neurontin 300mg, and also rubs his feet with Capzasin ( can get Capzasin without a prescription at Wal -Mart ). I sure hope you go to your doctor and get tested. I wish you the very best. Have a blessed day!

calluses on your foot is caused by the friction and pressure of your foot on your shoe; OR its caused by the way you walk.

so you cant make it really do away forever and completly.
what you can do is wear shoes that are more confortable.
