I was driving along when I noticed a young policeman out of his vehicle shouting down to a driver of a citizen's car(driver's side). He saw me looking and he didnt like me looking. So I kept driving, next thing I know, I've got this cops tailing me, they flash the lights to stop me and I did.I pulled over and got out of the car, that's when one of the cops started going off at me verbally, he wouldnt let me talk, shouting "Do you want to go back to your family tonight? then don't say a word, Shut up." The other cop just watched, he didn't participate as the other continued his attack on myself. What can the average citizen do when confronted with a similar situation? They never gave me a ticket, asked me for my licence or breath-test me. After all the abuse he told me to get in my car and go.

You need to go the Police Department and ask to speak to a Sgt. or the Watch Commander. Make sure you take all the information that pertains to the situation. You should have the date, time and exactly what happened written down. Hopefully, you were able to get the Officer's names from their name plates. If you don't get any results, then work your way up the chain of command until somebody listens. If no one at the police department will help you. Go to the city and try talking with the City Manager.

What State are you in? Let me know so I won't come and visit...lol Sounds like to me that the one officer was using one heck of a "scare tactic" on you! Did you happen to get a name or a badge number? What you need to do is to contact your PD department and ask for the Watch Commander or better yet the Commander in charge of the whole precinct. Tell him exactly what took place and that you feel you had been treated unfairly by this officer. That you had done nothing wrong.I had a simular incident happen to my son and his friend and I immediately called the Watch Commander and made a complaint then I called my attorney for any suggestions. You might want to do the same. Good luck

You can make a report to the police station if it makes you feel better, but I don't think that there is to much that can or will be done about it. If you haven't seen the movie CRASH you need to your story could fit right in. By the way don't you know better than to get out of your car when you are pulled over? That is one of the worst things you could ever do in fact most of the time the officer will tell you to stay in your car.

It sounds like a bunch of made up B$. If it is true, there is probably more to the story. The same advice holds true for anybody who feels wronged by the police. Make a complaint. If you feel the officer's actions were illegal, and he committed a crime, make a complaint to another agency. If the state trooper acted inappropriately, call the sheriff. You get the idea.

I can assure you police officers have more oversight than you could imagine. These people on here who say they get away with everything have no idea what they're talking about. Too much spin on a lot of these stories.

You say the officer saw you "looking," did you slow down or come to a stop next to where they were parked? There are criminals who just love to shoot at officers who are on traffic stops, and you may have given the officer the impression that you were "cruising" him.
And when you are pulled over, stay in the car. About 40% of the time when someone gets out of the car after being pulled over, I have a fight on my hands, the other 60% I have a safety hazard. It's best to just wait in the car, where you are safe.
Having said all that, the officer seems to have issues. I would talk to his watch commander about his behavior.

I'd march right in to the police station and file a formal complaint. Cops (although some think they are) are not above the law. It was a gross abuse of his authority. File the complaint don't let it go.

Contact his watch commander or shift Sergeant. There is no excuse for this. Write all your information down, time, date, a factual detailed briefing of what occurred and be ready to speak to him/her about it. At that point, they will handle it. There will be a dispatch record that should correspond with the date and time you were pulled over (10-50 in most areas).

You should just forget about the situation. You shouldn't have been staring at what the police were doing in the first place. It didn't pertain to you so you should have gone on as normal. You don't get out of the car unless the officer ask you to. He was probably being on his guard. Leave it alone.

Go to the police station and ask to speak with someone from Internal Affairs. I you feel that your rights were violated, I suggest that you contact a lawyer.
