atlanta is a very diverse town. we moved here from tampa in june. my fiancee is Cuban and we have enjoyed it very much. i do have to tell you, however, that there is still a fair amount of good ole boy suh-thun bigotry simmering in certain areas. stay away from west atlanta, dallas and that area, paulding county. gwinnett and dekalb seem to be the most diverse counties in the metro. overall a great place to live.

The Hispanic community seems to be the largest, most visible immigrant group here. Buford Highway has a large Hispanic population all the way from Atlanta into Gwinnett County.

Hispanics are the largest and they are mostly in southwest Gwinnett County (Buford Highway). Haitians are here, but they don't even come close to the Hispanic population.

Hi JC,

Thanks for asking this question. I'm planning to move to Atlanta from Los Angeles next year, and diversity is one of my main concerns.

Mike H is correct, and while there are all types of people in Atlanta, there aren't sections of town here dominated by any particular ethnic group as there are in, say, New York.

There is nothing comparable to Chinatown, Little Italy, etc., as there is in other cities.
