I have fallen for this guy who I think is a jerk! Well, he has been going through a lot in his personal life with the passing away of his dad, and throughout I have been VERY considerate..with warm smiles and sympathy emails. I told him my feelings for him, but he never said anything, and went out with a younger girl who asked him out! Now, Christmas time is coming and I decided to get him a gift card and pretzels (he's deeply in love with them)...because I have him for Secret Santa. Somehow he found out and told my friend to "not bother"! He's being a jerk...what should I do!?!?

He probably is taking you for granted, you have been there and hence will be there etc, You should back off with the attention you give him for a while see what his reaction is. Friendship may be all you may have together, because he seems either oblivious too or is ignoring your feelings for him. He will not know they are hurt until you show him. Be supportive but explain that it is no-longer your obligation it is his new girlfriends. Invest your time in someone who will reciprocate

definitely tell him how you feel. my bf is being a jerk as well, but his is a different story (he`s in the military.. end of story). anyways. you have fallen for this guy.. but are you guys dating because if not, then do NOT get into anything deeper. maybe him being a jerk is a sign for you to give him some space. either way, do not get into this situation any deeper.. just forget about this guy, if you can because he is definitely a waste of your time.
