This time of year has a lot of holidays from various religions. Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc. Why can't we have an Atheist Day put on the calendar? I want to give presents and get days off in the name of nothing in particular.

Hell yeah can we make it 1st January that way i can get over my new years hangover and not have to go to work thatd rock!

Atheists are in such a minority that Atheists Day even if selected for celebration, the response would pale into insignificance. As suggested by some one that all the other days which no religion in the world celebrates could be treated as Atheist Days.

I'm Deist and a couple of people where I work asked me how Deists celebrate Christmas, "Is it the birthday of Thomas Jefferson?" I plan to celebrate Thomas Jefferson's birthday (April 13) as a Deist holiday at work for that reason.
Maybe you could celebrate the birthday of a famous atheist.

All other days when none of the religions celebrate in the calendar are Atheists days.

Nicolaus Copernicus day would be nice. Yes Atheists should have holidays. Smoke weed all week holiday and Costumes also!!! I love dressing up.

May be 4th of July or labors day would do the Job, both these are non religious holidays.

You better make it on a Monday!
If you don't, all the others will vote to change it so they can have another 3 day weekend. They've done it to all the other non-religous holidays.

That's what all the federal holidays are for. And who needs a holiday to give gifts to those we care about?

How about we celebrate the solstice? It's not just some arbitrary day, and it has a real physical significance.

You get enough of are days off , Come to think of it why do you get christmas off ,if you dont believe in Jesus then dont take the day off and for heavens sake dont buy people presents
