Acne need not be cured by diet .
how long have u had acne for?
Consult a dermatologist for treatment of active acne. There are many effective medicines that can be prescribed(such as antibiotics, anti-androgen pills, retinoids etc).
Once the active acne stops completely after ur course of treatment and u remain acne free for 6 months or so, u can take up treatment for the scars and dark spots. There are many available depending on the severity such as micro dermabrasion, laser treatment, chemical peel etc
But first, consult a dermatologist and undergo treatment for the active acne.

Diet has nothing to do with acne, that was proven years and years ago. You need to find the right acne meds for you, there are a million out there but you need to find the ones that will work for your skin and type of acne. See a dermatologist, they will help you with a skin care regime, you may be a candidate for some oral antibiotics. The dark spots you are talking about are called hyperpigmentation, they are caused by acne and don't always fade away as fast as we would like (I got them too) Don't put too much on your face in the way of medicines without a doctors ok to do so, sometimes less is best. Sometimes a mild steroid lotion is given to help lighten up the dark spots but for the most part you just need to give it time. No picking either, that could cause scarring and even darker marks.
Good luck to you

First of all, drinking that much water isn't really that good for you. Stick with the 8 8oz. glasses you're body needs--3 gallons, that's a bit much. If you're not careful you could go overboard and overhydrate your system and flush your system of valuable nutrients your body needs to help clear up acne.
1. Don't touch your face. (Which reminds me, wash your hands regularly. Your hands are the most germ infested, disgusting things on your body. Think of everything you've touched with your hands, then imagine you rubbed your face on all of that. Gross, right? Wash your hands. It will help incase you do touch your face and it will help you not get sick. Hands are dirty, gross things, so clean them!)
2. Wash your face in the morning, in the afternoon if it feels yucky and in the evening before bed.
3. Try a morning acne cream/daytime face lotion and a pm/night time lotion.
4. Keep in mind your body can only absorb certain minerals through the skin--Vit. E is one of those and it helps clear away scars. (Look for lotions, washes with it included.)
5. It's all about balance, partially. You don't want to use oily products but you don't want to dry your skin out. Moisturize with an oil free moisturizer after each wash--they have acne fighting washes and lotions. (Phisoderm, I think is what it's called, is a good face soap that won't dry you out--$5, but still use moisturizer.)
6. Always wear sunblock to protect the skin. You can get moisturizers with it included. (Protect your lips, too. Get a good chapstick--Carmex is amazing at healing yucky lips and keeping them healthy.)
7. See a dermatologist. If you are having a seriously bad time with acne, the dreaded "pizza face" kind, just see a doctor about it. If nothing you do works, then it's time to see someone for help.
I don't know how old you are, it could just be an age thing. Acne usually clears away in your mid to late 20's, but it isn't always the case. Either way, if it's a big problem then see a docotor.

Listen to me I can help you.
-drink 8 glasses of h2o a day
-wash your face twice a day w/LUKEWARM h2o
-take a multi-vitamin w/o iodine and 50mg zinc
-if you pop a pimple, and its not ready, you can do more damage and it can scar. If you do have to and its ready, wrap your fingers in clean tissue and press down on either side of the zit, not in.
-use fade cream for spots or pigment gel on spot
-use clean PAPERTOWEL each time you wash face to pat dry...and don't use fragrance in your laundry soap/dryer sheets especially for your pillowcases!!
-use a mild cleanser (Oil of Olay sensitive skin foaming cleanser) and toner (neutrogena alcohol free) twice a day, and a 2.5 benzoyl peroxide topically at night..if not working up it to 5%.
