I Timothy 2: 1 refers to entreaties, prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, which are to be offered on behalf of all men. Ephesians 6:18 speaking of the spiritual armor, specifically the offensive weapons, speaks of all (manner of) prayer and petition. The most general term translated prayer is from the Greek proseuche and appear 130-140 times in the New Testament, either in the noun or verb form. All other variants of prayer, thanksgiving, petitions, entreaties, intercession, praise come under this general heading. I think the Psalms offer some of the best examples of prayer, but examples are so prolific in the Scriptures that it would be a considerable undertaking just to list them all.

Prayer is all of the above. It is an outpouring of your heart to God. During time set aside for prayer, I follow the ACTS method but keeping an ongoing conversation in your spirit with God, when you praise, ask for something, make a confession, or simply call His name, any and all of it counts as prayer as well.
The ACTS method is an acronym for a good guideline for praying as Jesus demonstrated with the Lord's Prayer. Adoration - offer praise and adoration, acknowledging and recognizing God for who He is; Confession - be truthful about any wrongdoing you've committed, ask forgiveness, and resolve to try not to commit the same wrong again; Thanksgiving - identify what you're grateful for and thank God for provision; Supplication - make your pleas on your own behalf and on the behalf of others.

For me prayer is a conversation. 2 way. But like all conversations it includes pleas and praise.
I don't think it could be any other way. It would feel very impersonal, and conversing with God should be a very personal thing.
Some people just plea, or praise, or just talk and that's fine too. I suppose that how we talk to God is different for everybody.

Praising God (playstation 80 3:18) is a sturdy element. although the objective of a faith is to tutor its contributors the bible. The contributors would desire to appreciate the scriptures, to establish that they are appealing God by ability of how they stay their lives. Many places of worship are turning out to be far flung from this and function improve right into a sole place of entertainment, as a consequence many "church goers" after attending their church all their existence, be attentive to little or no in regards to the bible and function difficulty explaining countless the undemanding straightforward teachings of the bible. whilst requested a query in regards to the Trinity (this is a pretend coaching, God and Jesus are no longer the comparable guy or woman) after some seconds of clarification then comes the section I pay attention alot "this is a secret." How unhappy! of direction no longer all religions are this way yet unlucky many are (Matt 7:21-23). And that has alot to do with why further and added people are pissed off and are turning their backs on faith and concluding that there is not any God. Even sadder! in case you % to truly get to be attentive to God for your self, pray to him and ask him direct you to a faith that he approves. Ask him to make his answer to your prayer sparkling so as which you would be able to parent his answer. Pray utilising his call (playstation 80 3:18 sure God does have one) and be assured that the 'Hearer Of Prayers' will handle your concern. A truthful Bible student H B J flow

It is talking to God which covers all you mentioned. It is also a way of dumping all your concerns on him and getting his peace.
Phl 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Phl 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

You got it; all of the above. A prayer is what ever you want it to be at the time. You can pray to "praise" & show your thanks. You can pray to "plea" for help. ...And you can just pray to express your feelings, like a conversation.

a word with a friend
i dont think God needs or wants praised ... why would a perfect being need praise
a plea wont help , as he wouldnt interfere and take away the free will he gave us
just a friend to listen ... thats it ... but what is better than that ?

Prayer is a conversation with God, our creator, one can plead, praise God, worship God, and glorify God for what He has done for us. There are prayers of intercession, for someones need. And prayers of Thanksgiving. Pray for World Peace.

All of what you said,
I really do not believe God wants us to memorize prayer to be sputed back to him. He wants a personal relationship with us, for us to talk to him like we would a best friend, with respect of course.
Look at how the prophets spoke to him. Look how Jesus spoke to him. Not some memorized verses, just talk to him, praise him, sing to him this is Worship!!!
Start with thanking him....
