You'll have to pay for alcohol, sodas, pictures, anything in the gift shop and spa services. Some games, like Bingo, cost extra too. Excursions are also extra.

All of the food is free, including room service, and usually coffee, tea, and juices with meals are free. Drinks without meals, bottled water, cappuccino, coffee, pastries, etc are not free.

I usually allow about 200.00 per person per cruise for extras, excluding the spa, excursions, and money spent in ports.

Carnival ship to shore phone rate from your stateroom was changed not long ago to $1.99 a minute - if you HAVE to call home from sea, that is the best way to do it. EDIT mrsjvb - ship to shore communication rates from your stateroom is much more reasonable now

In addition to alcohol, Pictures are what I ended up spending a ton of $$ on. They have backdrops & photographers set up around every corner, they'll take your pick, print them, then you view the prints later and decide if you want to purchase or not. Some are really nice, some are cheesy.

there all kind of extras that cost gambling, massages, gift shop, hair salon, everything you want to buy is put on your room card . this is the card that lets you in your room and is backed by your credit card so watch giving it to your 18 year old son . cause you might get a bill like me for $500. 00 worth of drinks. it sucked but have fun

I think if you want video games in your stateroom, you have to pay for that too. But not much else.
