so,i'm sending money in an envelope.everyone's telling me to do a money order or do by credit card or check.okay.i would do that, but i'm only 15. my plan was to put money in a regular envelople.then put it in another envelope.one of the brown ones with the bubbles in it.as long as the mailman won't see the money, they won't take it.and how do they know it's money anyways??do they have like a x-ray machine that tells them that it's money.and i don't want to do priority mail or first class mail

Your best bet is to listen to what your friends are telling you. Get a money order; it's a lot easier and safer than what you plan on doing. While it may not be the postman who takes the cash, it can also be an unintended recepient at the business you sent it to. Once the cash is in someone else's pocket, you have no proof you sent it. Money orders, checks, credit cards provide you that safety net.
Anyone can get a money order, regardless that you're only 15.

Never never send cash in the mail. Have your parents write the check and you can give them the cash or go to almost any grocery store or bank and get a money order. The small fee for a money order is safer and cheaper then losing all the money.
Just don't ever ever send cash, no matter how you try to disguise it.

If you send cash, I would also tape the outside of the envelope. Money orders are relatively cheap, depending on where you buy them, so I'd buy one if you can. If you are sending out of the country, I'd definitely get the money order.

I have been mailing cash for years as gifts, never has been lost. Just do not mail bill payments with cash.

well look at it this way, if the postal service can't see what is in your mail do you really think drug smugglers would have to go through great lengths to smuggle drugs?
