May i start by saying I'm very proud of my surname and i don't want to loose it because there are no more males to carry on the surname even though I am a female ! This is my mothers maiden name and i kept it out of respect for my grandparents that brought me up during the first nine years of my life, it's brook which is a English name which came from people which lived near the water brook's some are called brookbanks because they lived near to the banks of the brook.
