As a Christian, I believe that God has given us the medical abilities to carry out organ transplants. I believe that once we die, our bodies are just empty shells, our spirit has gone to either heaven or hell.
I believe that God knows how long we will live and when we will die. If someone has an organ transplant and lives for another 12 years, then that was God's plan for them.

I actually don't know of an official stance on organ transplants in Hinduism. There is unlikely an official stance at all, since there is no organized governing body in Hinduism. My personal opinion is that one ought to donate their organs upon their deaths. This could save lives. What would we need them for when we are dead?

As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, we have no problems with it. A friend of mine had a kidney transplant some time ago, his son sacrificed it for him. I've known some that took heart transplants. Nothing in the Bible, which is our only basis for belief, denies an organ transplant.

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As far as I can remember, I have never heard or read an official Church policy on organ transplants, so I believe that it's left up to the decision of the individual members. I am personally acquainted with many people of my faith who have donated or plan to donate. I am an organ donor.

Whatever helps another person! My religion is pro-organ donation and very much in favor of saving lives. We host the Red Cross in our buildings for blood drives (different, I know) and do all that we can to serve others. I am proud to be an organ donor! :)

It depends on if you need an organ or a piano. Seriously, if you need an organ transplant, get one.

No one should ever stand on an organ transplant. Ever!

Organ transplants are fine to keep someone alive as along as you are not killing some one to do it

As a Christian I prayed about it and felt led to read "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein. Through that and my faith in God... I became an organ donor and firmly believe it's what God would want me to do.

God gave us a beautiful and functional brain that is put to much better use in saving lives through modern science than conniving
on ways to ridicule our brothers and sisters in this world for innocent deeds that offend no one but hypocrites with false agendas
