Check out a liquor store (for the same size boxes. About 10 liquor boxes should do it. Plus tape, any heavy duty tape should work.

Tape them all closed in their original form. Stack three up for the right side and three up for the left side. Tape around at the divide between to tape them together. Then do four end to end for the mantle.

I think wide duck tape would be strong enough
to tape the boxes together for the mantle across the top. Use the tape to strap it together securely. Then the mantle can rest across the up rights. Tape in place.

It can be spray painted in stone or brick color. Or covered with the brick paper corrugated paper (red and white). You should be able to find it at a craft store this time of year.

If its a big box, close it up cut a square hole in front and paint it with a brick design. if they are small boxes, make a block "C"and put construction paper on the back so that it gives it some depth. set it against a wall
