If you want laid back - Perth or Adelaide
If you want a small capital city with a tight community - Darwin
If you want cosmopolitan shopping and bars, want to work in the head office of a corporate company and don't mind crowds - Sydney or Melbourne
If you want constant warm weather and a very Aussie experience - Brisbane
If you want to live on an island - Hobart.
How's that?

Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne. Brisbane is in the north, Sydney is on the Eastern coast, and Melbourne is in southern Australia. Brisbane is the warmest with the nicest weather, but Melbourne is colder alot more frequently. Syd is a little more in between, but very congested. Brisbane is a little less populated, although Melbourne is the retro and upmarket city of Oz. It does depend on what you'll be doing here though. If your coming here to study, then Canberra (the capital) could be your best bet. Canberra has a high quantity of uni students. Hope it helped!

Darwin is the cheapest but hottest. Sydney and Melbourne are the dearest but they are where the big businesses are in Australia. I personal hate the big cities. Hate the traffic and not being about to find anywhere to park the car. I would rather live in smaller cities such as Toowoomba (1hour west of Brisbane) It has everything that Brisbane has without the traffic. It is far more friendly. Unfortunately Toowoomba is on water restrictions, but then so is Brisbane.

Brisbane because it is a relaxing place and beautiful. You can go to Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast with beautiful beaches by transportation. Brisbane is not too cold or too hot in weather despites Queensland is having level 4 water restriction. However, if you prefer more night life activities, maybe Melbourne. Cost of living in Sydney is high, that's why many of my friends moved from Sydney to Brisbane. although Sydney is a beautiful place to live as well. Bottom line is it depends what you need and want.

Too easy. Sydney. The other cities are great but slow.
We have the best beaches in the world. And the climate is OK.

But be wary when you drive in Sydney. The worlds worst drivers live here. I am serious.
