old desert recipe?

My mom is 60 years old and when she was a child her mom used to make a simple desert called "NOTHING'" . she can't rember what was in in or anything just that it was called that and real easy to make
can anyone help me?

If it was an old desert recipe, I'm guessing that the main ingredient was probably sand. Just kidding. It could have been a dessert made out of anything, because during the depression years people used to make things out of what they had. They probably had "nothing" to use so they made "nothing". It probably contained flour, sugar or honey, and maybe something from the garden or orchard.

Ingredients-


Boxed Devil's Food Cake Mix
6 egg whites
1/2 cup of applesauce
12 oz fat-free cool whip
4 *Sweet Escapes Peanut Butter Crunch Bars, crushed
8 oz can fat-free condensed milk


Directions-


Wash your hands .
Bake according to directions.Let cool approximately 15-20 minutes
Use fork tines to make holes in cake. Pour 1/2 cup of condensed milk on top of cake and allow to soak into holes to make the cake moist.
Once cake is completely cooled, spread 12 ounces of cool whip on frosting.
Top with crushed peanut bars

OK I just went to www.foodnetwork.com and typed in "nothing cake" and there is 6 different ones there. So I have no clue as to which one it would be.
