I was thinking of getting thermage done but do not like the idea of waiting for a year to see if any results. I like the concept of Fraxel laser treatments for facial wrinkles, etc but they are rather expensive - they include a series of 4 treatments, one to two months apart, at $1,000 per treatment. $4,000 is a lot considering I don't know what results I will have (I'm 50+ old). Has anyone out there had these treatments and if so, what kind of results did you have or do you have a friend who has had the treatments.

I have not had the treatment done but I have spoken with Dr.'s who do the treatment and they are very excited by the results. You may want to go to the site(s) listed in the source section. They further explain procedures and list some surveys from people who have had specific kinds of procedures....you may be able to find a survey for someone who has had Fraxel treatments.

I worked in a derm office for three years(just left in october) and one of the doctors in the office had this laser. i would not spend the money on this treatment. When it first came out it was considered the "hot" new thing and it really hasn't proved to be that great.( in my opinion) The best thing to do is look in the mirror and figure out what you would really like to change the most. make an appointment with a plastic surgeon and tell him/her what you want to change. Let them tell you what treatment would be best. I have seen many people have treatments fail and get upset that they spent so much money. but if you talk to them about what they want to change the treatment wasn't going to do that in the first place.
