It's completely legal - Food Hygiene laws cover things which cause illness or danger which wouldn't cover plastic pint pots. A lot of ones which appear to be glass nowadays are reinforced unsmashable plastic.

I dont know but I nicked a few plastic ones a few years ago from a pub & they have "reuseable" written on the bottom of them & they still work fine!

Most you can buy are reusable. You can put them through the glass washer with the normal glasses.
