I believe it is the government or the officer model. I do know that it is the lower end 1991. It is matte blued w/ iron fixed sights

Well, realistically, you're not going to know too much about that gun until AFTER you give it a good cleaning. The slide rubbing is, pretty much, meaningless. The condition of the bore and the overall condition of the gun, itself, determine its NRA rating. Austin and Frank Behlert were personal friends of mine. Austin and his son-in-law, Gunsmith Art Leckie, both passed away a few years ago. Austin is one of the earliest pioneers in custom-built 1911 pattern pistols. His and Armand Swenson's guns sell at a premium. In the past 7 years I've sold off 4 Behlert-built pistols: 2 Browning P-35's, and 2 Colt Mark IV Series 70's. They were, all, well used and in perfect mechanical condition. The lowest price I got was $850.00; and that came from a guy who promptly went out and screwed up the gun. Keep the box; and do not store that piece inside the leather holster - OK. I suspect your Behlert-built 1911 - with the described accessories - will sell for, somewhere around, $1,800.00 to $2,100.00. (More if you expose it well for sale and find the right buyer.)

The 1991 series was the low end plain jane line from Colt after they re-tooled. But Colts hold their value pretty good.

Here in California they go for $350 to $400 for 85% condition.

you could ask a gun dealer or call up Cabelas or Bass Pro and check what a new one would be worth and then ask what yours might be worth...
