when I'm making my famous pecan pie (when I'm not using walnuts). I think it gives the pie an overall better appearance, What's your favorite strategy?

I have a more famous pecan pie, and I usually just crush my pecans using a rolling pin. It's pretty easy.

If you have an ex-wife also, you might ask her to help, I know MY ex-wife said she'd like to crush my nuts...so it might be worth a try!

Ummm.. yeah. Crushed nuts... not the route I would take but hey, to each their own. OOHHHH, pecans... sorry, I was thinking.. oh nevermind.

I have never had pecan pie with crushed nuts, maybe I will try that sometime. Of course that would mean I would have to convince my wife to eat some or 1/2 of it would go to waste!

I run my "Nuts" tee hee, through the food processor. A pecan pie with the full halves looks great but is harder to eat.

Years ago I found and bought pecan dust and made pies with it. It was very inexpensive and they came out great.

Happy Holidays.

Place your nuts between two cloths and use a rolling pin to get the desired finess or, use the blender or the food processor if you have one.
