You can get the look you want using various pomades and dry waxes. You'll have to experiment with different brands til you find your favorite, but I like the Tigi bedhead stick. Leave the gels and sprays for grampa, this is 2006!

It depends on the type of hair you have.
My first suggestion would be not to wash you hair so often (unless you have super oily hair) Wash every other day. Or try a mild soap like Castille soap. You can find a bottle at Trader Joe's.

Also try a leave in conditioner so your hair can get the oils it needs to have a bit more shine an luster

When you wash your hair try just scrubbing at the hairline instead of lathering up all your hair. You won't be greasy but the ends of your hair won't dry out either.

get special shampoo or research deep conditioners. u could also try giving urself oil rubs. u can research that pretty easy too.

use conditioner. there are certain brands that carry different shampoos and conditioners that treat different types of hair...i know garnier fructise has one called sleek and shine. you could try that
