I do, not often enough to bother to see a doctor, only about five per year.
It really depends on the specific symptoms you experience in your migraines as to what will best ease them.
I, for example, become sensitive to light, sound etc. so I must lie in a dark room in silence for a few hours. I also experience a "kaliedescope-like vision" before and during the migraines so I try to keep my eyes shut and go to sleep.
I also take painkillers for the pain...it depends how severe and how often you get them and your specific symptoms, so seeing a doctor might be helpful.
Unfortunately, there are lots of possible causes of migraines so it is difficult to determine exactly the cause but if you can, possibly by keeping a record of your diet etc. then simply avoiding the cause will help!
Hope this helps!

I have suffered from migraines for 8 years.. went to many doctors that did nothing. Then found a doc. who did tests, scans, and found nothing.. So i was put on prescriptions that helped, but then stopped. So the one thing works best for me is excederin migraine. Or a cup of hot tea that is extra strong with no sugar. If it get bad enough, then i go to the er for a shot called Imitrex. Its a wonderful medicine, but the bad thing is the insurance i used to have did not cover it as a prescription. So i just use excederin migraine.

If you truely suffer from migraines you need to see a neurologist for help. If you get them often they can try several different drugs to help prevent migraines. They can also give you pain medicine specifically for migraines.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

If you get them frequently and severely you need to see your doctor. There's prescription meds that can help. I get them occasionally. It feels like someone is pounding on one side of my head with a hammer and squeezing my left eyeball with their other hand. I usually get nauseous and vomit. The action of the heaving and puking makes my head throb and pound even more. It's excruciating. Then I take two ibuprofen, chew a benadryl, go to a dark and quiet room and sleep for an hour. Then I'm fine.

I did until I took topamax as a preventitive medicine. Before that, I was using Advil, muslce relaxants and morphine. And spleeping it off. I haven't had one migraine since being on topamax.

Yes, they come up from the back of my neck, the cervical spine third and fourth vertebrae, go up along my neck and over my left ear, they go around to my left eye and down into it. They hammer and feel like ...sometimes I cry?
I take Topamax right away if I can catch it in time and it goes right away. My doctor thinks it's from nerve damage, he even knows the name of the nerve and, that it.

I occasionally have atypical migranes. 600mg tabs of Motrin (ibuprofen) and a nap are all it takes to obtain relief...didn't used to be so easy to overcome, but when I got my blood pressure under control, I pretty much got my migranes under control.
