When I got my budgie from the pet store they said it was 2-3 months old and they couldn't gareentee the sex of the bird.
Around the holes in the nose it is faint blue but the rest of the nose is cream/light brown color. I know the boys are suppose to be blue and girls brown. Is it maybe to early too tell since there is a small area of blue. it is also just getting small hints of grey on its wings I dunno if that helps with age determination or not.

If the area around the nares is a faint blue and the rest of the Cere is cream/ light brown, chances are VERY HIGH that you in fact have a little girl.. its true that a male has the blue cere and the females is cream/tan but the female can also have faint blue around her nares when she is out of breeding condition, and since your bird is only a few months old its not sexually mature enough yet and the cere is still showing up with light blue, give her time and her cere will turn a crusty tan colour as she breeding condition.

Give it ALOT more time. I have 6 parakeets. When they are older the wpot above their nose will either be BLUE, or a white or Tan. Obviously the Blue means boy. Although, this cant always be true, becuz some of mine (ive had for 3 years) still go from partially blue to white. But 2-3 months is Too young, unless it happens to have ALOT of hormones.

Probably a male; a female shouldn't have blue on the cere.
However, I do have a budgie that has gender problems; he/she has gone back and forth all his life, and he is 4 years old. It's no problem since I've never tried to breed him.

it sounds as once you've a male who's only starting up to have the colour replace of the cere. although, you ought to attend, perchance yet another couple months even, be for you'll understand for constructive.
